When arriving by train
3-min. walk from JR Sanyo Main Line “Chofu Station”
If you are coming by JR Sanyo Shinkansen, it will be smoother to transfer to the JR Sanyo Main Line at “Shin-Shimonoseki Station” or “Asa Station” and get off at “Chofu Station.”

When you take the train, please declare that you are going to the boat race course at JR Chofu Station (or Shimonoseki Station, Shin-Shimonoseki Station) and receive the boarding certificate on the day*1. Then, bring the certificate and your “e~Ho! Card” to “One-way Free Transportation Service Window” on the 1st floor of the Central Stand.
In exchange, the same amount of electronic money as the fare (up to 990 yen) will be charged to your “e~Ho! Card.”
When arriving by car
Get off the Chugoku Expressway “Shimonoseki IC,” head toward Hiroshima and Shunan on National Route 2, and turn right at the intersection in front of Chofu Station.
Get off the Chugoku Expressway “Ozuki IC,” head toward Ozuki on National Route 491 and National Route 2, and turn left at the intersection in front of Chofu Station.
Please bring the receipts on the day received at each toll gate of the Kanmon Roadway Tunnel, Kanmon Bridge (Moji IC – Shimonoseki IC), Chugoku Expressway (Minenishi IC – Ozuki IC), and Sanyo Expressway (Ube IC – Habu IC), and your “e~Ho! Card” to “One-way Free Transportation Service Window.” In exchange, the same amount of electronic money as the toll for the above section will be charged to your “e~Ho! Card” (multiple combinations are available).
* Tolls for the Kanmon Roadway Tunnel: 160 yen for ordinary vehicles, 110 yen for light vehicles, 20 yen for mopeds (coupon tickets are not eligible for this service).
* If the used section is shorter than the applicable section, the amount is for the used section only. If the amount exceeds that for that of the applicable section, the amount is for the applicable section only. If the ETC discount is used, the amount is after the discount.
* When using ETC, please receive a receipt at a manned toll gate.
Please bring the receipt on the day received at the toll gate of the Kitakyushu Expressway and your “e~Ho! Card” to the “One-way Free Transportation Service Window.” In exchange, the same amount of electronic money as the toll (up to 520 yen) will be charged to your e~Ho! Card.”
* Toll for Kitakyushu Expressway: 520 yen for ordinary vehicles and light vehicles. If the ETC discount is used, the amount is after the discount.
* When using ETC, please receive a receipt at a manned toll gate.
When arriving by boat
5 min. from Mojiko to Shimonoseki (Karato) by Kanmon Ferry that connects Honshu and Kyushu
When you take Kanmon Ferry from Mojiko to Karato, please declare that you are going to the boat race course at Karato Terminal and receive a receipt or the boarding certificate (to be issued by 6:00 p.m.). Then, bring it and your “e~Ho! Card” to the “One-way Free Transportation Service Window.” In exchange, electronic money equal to the fare up to 400 yen will be charged to your “e~Ho! Card.”
When arriving by airplane
Notes on various services
JR One-way Free Transportation Service, Kanmon Roadway Tunnel and Expressway One-way Free Transportation Service, Kanmon Ferry One-way Free Transportation Service, and free direct bus service are all applicable only on the days holding races at Boat Race Shimonoseki (excluding on midnight boat race days).
These services are not available on the off-site ticket sales days.
Tickets and receipts only for the day of race are valid (limited to ＧⅠ or higher races, tickets, etc. for pre-inspection day if you bring it during the race series).
Electronic money can be recharged until the deadline of ticket sales for Shimonoseki Race 8.
As a general rule, the service can be used one time per person on the day.
